On 1 October, EMRHP launches the Inclusive Penitentiary Healthcare Reform project with the support of the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
In Armenia and Kazakhstan, the project team will study and document prison healthcare reform experience, including changes in access to HIV, TB, and viral hepatitis C services. The knowledge and practical experience gained will be used to support reforms in Moldova and Ukraine: project experts will help adapt successful approaches to national contexts and contribute to the development of the necessary legislative, regulatory, and methodological documents.
The project also includes regional exchange of experience, work on the digitalization of prison healthcare, and technical assistance to organizations and community representatives to ensure their participation in reform planning, implementation and monitoring.
